Hök Nik Creative will be performing extensive upgrades and maintenance to our NetAlberta hardware and software infrastructure, as well as migrating our servers to a new data facility (in Alberta).
This upgrade will affect your email and web services.
- On March 17 - 18, 2012, we will be performing a complete backup up of all our systems so that we can physically move them to the new data center.
- We estimate this to take a full 24 hours to complete but we must also allow a few hours of additional time for contingencies.
- During this period email, websites, ftp services may not be available.
Why now?
Our decision to migrate our services to new data facilities is due to the poor service we have been receiving from Bell Canada. We have had to deal with many problems, outages, and technical issues with our systems in the Bell Data Facility in Edmonton.
What is changing?
We will be using state-of-the-art virtual technology and migrating our network to an on-demand data-center infrastructure. This will allow us to provide the highest quality of service while continuing to grow and enhance our NetAlberta Internet Services.
We will do our best to complete this initial step so that service will be restored as fast as possible, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
